Protection criteria for MV networks

This document shows general information on the actions menu of the free@home system.

This document helps in the creation of a small alarm function with free@home. This function proves especially
useful during one’s absence: All detectors act as alarm indicators that trigger a panic scene when any movement is detected. The alarm indicators additionally send an e-mail or push notification.

The following example described in this document helps in the creation of a smoke alarm detector function with free@home. In the free@home system we want to network smoke detectors. When one of the detectors is triggered, we want a light scene to be activated, e.g. “escape route – open blinds” and/or “Escape route lighting”.

In some cases it may be necessary to separate the gangs of a rocker switch and define several functions on one control unit. This can either be necessary due to structural reasons or due to specific control units which the owner installed in the building at a later time. In this document an example will be used to demonstrate the before mentioned separating process.

With some applications, it is necessary to operate the actuator via a push-button, e.g. when you want to switch on or off a ballast with push-button input via a short impulse or when you want to dim it via a long impulse.
Another area of application can be controlling a garage door or calling an elevator. This may also include other devices, which actually are activated via a push-button but shall be integrated into free@home.

In some cases it might be necessary to lock or activate blinds. The following example in this document shall help you in creating a locking/activation.

It may occur on windy days that a blinds “wind alarm” is triggered and the blind first moves into the position for wind alarm and then back to its previous position (10 minutes without gusts). These instructions explain the steps to be taken, so that the blinds remain up.

This document helps in the creation of a shading function with free@home. The shading function helps to avoid the heating-up of room on summer days. On winter days the heat generation, in contrast, shall be used to reduce e.g. the heating costs.

An outdoor lighting shall be controlled via a presence detector and also be set to “Always ON” and “Always OFF” via a sensor.
