ISO 9001 is an international quality standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a worldwide federation of national standards bodies which gives the requirements for quality management systems.
These days a manufacturer's guarantee of meeting an intended level of quality assurance is no longer enough. ISO 9000 standards are third-party specifications that provide a reliable total quality management framework for buyers who wish to ensure that a given product, service or process meets the intended quality standard.
ISO 9001:2008 is the standard that provides a set of standardized requirements for a quality management system, regardless of what the user organization does, its size, or whether it is in the private or public sector. It is the only standard in the family in which organizations can be certified.
GE Zenith Controls has taken steps to be ISO certified in order to standardize our work and provide consistency within our business. The design, manufacture and sale of paralleling switchgear, transfer switches, related control systems and products, including field and design services, have been assessed and approved by SAI Global to meet the provisions of ISO 9001:2008.
