ABB BreakMaster medium voltage load interrupter switchgear enhanced with the advanced interrupting VersaRupter® switch technology
-
VersaRupter is an indoor load break switch capable of 100 electrical operations at full rated current
-
Offers a minimum of 1,000 mechanical no load operations, twice the market standard for UL certification
ABB BreakMaster™ medium voltage load interrupter switchgear is used to help safely disconnect power, as well as provide fault current protection. It can also be used to select alternative power between two primary sources and in line-ups of multiple sections for key heavy industrial markets. BreakMaster’s safety and efficiency are now improved with the integration of the VersaRupter indoor load break switch, capable of a minimum of 1,000 mechanical no load operations, twice the requirement for UL certification, and 100 electrical operations at full rated current. The VersaRupter’s dual arc extinguishing puffer system uses a balanced combination of air and gas to reliably extinguish arcs.
“The BreakMaster load interrupter switchgear provides safe switching and circuit protection where an infrequent means of disconnecting is required,” said Dick Jackman, Senior Vice President, ANSI MV+LV Switchgear, ABB. “The addition of the VersaRupter, with its dual arc extinguishing system, improves safe switching and circuit protection ability.”
The variety of BreakMaster configurations make it useful for specific distribution needs and can fill most distribution system requirements. BreakMaster is available in a variety of configurations including single switches, duplex switches, and line-ups. Motor operators, customer metering and outdoor construction are also available.
