Ty-Rap Cable Ties

Innovative design and engineered materials make Ty-Rap® cable ties the perfect fastening solution where performance really matters. Often imitated but never equaled, Ty-Rap cable ties provide superior performance in any application. The complete Ty-Rap® portfolio includes cable ties specifically designed for the application. Whether the application requires resistance against extreme temperatures, flames, continuous sunlight and UV radiation, aggressive chemicals or requires heavy tensile strength, ABB has a cable tie solution.

First patented in 1958 as a way to bundle wiring in airplanes, the Ty-Rap® cable tie brand remains a benchmark of excellence and innovation in wire management

Benefits

The Grip of Steel®: Ty-Rap's non-hygroscopic stainless steel locking device ensures maximum strength and extended useful life

Fewer stress points: Ty-Rap's smooth, notchless body reduces the number of stress points to increase its useful life, while ribs and stipples grip the bundle and prevent slipping specifically in vibrating applications.

Snag free installation: The low-profile head and its oval shape make it easier to pull bundled cables through bulkheads. Easier on your hands, too.

Performance in extreme & harsh environments: available in multiple materials to operate in corrosive, chemicals, hot and cold and other demanding environments.

Additions to the Ty-Rap offering

Ty-Rap heat-reactive cable ties. These ties change color from their standard green to translucent when in contact with a high-temperature surface, providing visual indication of overheating equipment or a potential skin burn hazard.

Ty-Rap detectable cable ties from ABB incorporate a unique compound (patent pending) that can be detected by X-Ray equipment, metal detectors and visual inspection equipment.  Recommended applications: food, pharmaceutical, and other contamination-sensitive industries using detection systems, where cable tie installation residuals (cut tails) are not allowed in the finished product and prevent food contamination and expensive food recalls.
