OTHV Disconnects

The OTHV disconnect switches range from 200A to 800A, UL 98C, and 160A to 2500A, IEC 60947-3. Specially designed for 800V AC and 1000V AC applications like renewables and mining.

In PV applications, increasingly large arrays of string inverters are leading to increased voltage requirements on the AC side of the inverter, requiring a combiner switch capable of operating above a standard 600V rating. With an 800V AC rating up to 800A and a 1000V AC up to 600A, more arrays can be combined to a single point of common coupling (PCC), reducing cable runs and saving cost.

In mining applications, cable runs from source to socket can result in voltage drop, leading the industry to standardize at 1000V AC. OTHV can serve as an isolation switch, or in combination with fuses, protection for mining control systems.
