Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter with Self-Test (GFCI)

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter with Self-Test (GFCI) provides protection against overloads, short circuits, and ground faults. It detects very low levels of electrical current leakage (ground faults) and acts quickly to shut off power preventing severe shock. GFCI meets National Electrical Code 2020.

Benefits

  • Short pigtail version speeds installation and reduces clutter
  • One-inch standard breaker package frees up valuable wire space
  • Satisfies code requirement through NEC 2020 for Arc fault protection

Features

  • Standard self-test functionality
  • LED indications simplify troubleshooting
  • Push button test to validate ground fault detection
  • GE’s GFCIs include both 5 and 30mA versions
  • Overload protection
  • Short circuit protection

Applications

  • Wet locations
  • Damaged wires
  • Neutral leads pinched to a grounded metal box
  • Worn electrical insulation
